First Christmas
Hudsons First Christmas was awesome!! He looked so cute in his little Christmas outfit. The presents he received were all thoughtful and developmentally appropriate. His favorite one is this piano with four big keys on it that he can “hit” with his fist. It’s music to our ears everytime we hear the ping of success when he gets his arm up and onto the piano key!
We had Christmas at our house this year, which was a first. It was a full house with both sets of grandparents (mine and Scott’s) and a handful of aunties and uncles. The food was awesome, not that Hudson got to partake, but he did eat some rice cereal . . . and then when it came back up again he got to wear some too!
This Christmas was extra special to us and our family really did FEEL the holiday spirit with the help of some truly special people. One who we can’t even thank. Sometime Christmas morning an unknown person (or persons) dropped off a large cloth santa bag of presents on the front door. The card was signed from “Santa.” We’d love to know who put this together so we could THANK them. I hope at least they are reading this blog. Thank you Santa for thinking of our family this time of year and for doing something special. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
Later Christmas day, after we had dinner and most of the family had gone home, we learned that this year the Miller Family had forgone the traditional White Elephant Gift Exchange Christmas Day for a collection in Hudsons name. We were completely surprised by this. Most of these family members have never even met Hudson but he’d crept into their hearts. And while I know Scott and I would go to the moon for him, we never imagined that clear across the state a group of 30+ people had been scheming this gift for Hudson and our family. The Christmas Exchange is tradition (and I’m a stickler for tradition) and they all gave up that part of the holiday to do something for our little man. Again, we are BLOWN away by the kindness of others. We are so lucky to have all of you in our lives supporting us, supporting him.
THANK YOU Santa and Miller Family. This really was our best Christmas ever because you gave us something much bigger than gifts or money, you gave us yourselves. We are learning a lot from Hudson but we are also learning a lot from all of you – the wonderful people in our lives that give us hope, strength and love. We are better people and better parents because of your kindness.

Aunt Debbie
thank you for keeping us updated. He is so cute and a very remarkable little boy. I don’t know how you guys are holding up through all this. I remember when we first found out about Madison I felt lost seeing everything that she went through. She is a fighter though and I know that Hudson is to. Give both of your beautiful kids loves.
